Cesare Indiveri
Co-funder and CEO
Prof. Cesare Indiveri is Co-funder and CEO of UnicalCure. His scientific interests ranges from biochemistry to molecular and cell biology with particular reference to expression of membrane proteins and enzymes, purification techniques, membrane protein and enzymes biochemical characterization, validation of druggable targets and drug screening. He is Full Professor in Biochemistry at University of Calabria since 2001 and is currently Director of IBIOM (Institute of Biomembrane, Bioenergetics and Molecular Biotechnology).
Arduino Arduini
Co-funder and CEO
Arduino Arduini is Co-funder and CEO of UnicalCure. He has spent more than 20 years in industrial research. His competence covers several areas: preclinical identification of novel therapeutic targets, library screening, development of in vitro and in vivo experimental models, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, toxicology, patentability, and identification of chemical compounds.
Maria Barile
Member of protein biochemistry and drug screening unit
Prof. Maria Barile is member of protein biochemistry and drug screening unit of UnicalCure. She has spent over a decade in basic research to characterize enzymes that play a central role in energy metabolism, particularly in the functionality of beta-oxidation of fatty acids and the Krebs cycle. Her professional experience has recently expanded to developing new drugs. She also is Full Professor in Biochemistry at University of Bari.
Anna Maria Tonazzi
Member of the protein expression and characterization unit
Dr. Annamaria Tonazzi is member of the protein expression and characterization unit of UnicalCure. Her competencies cover different areas of molecular biology and biochemistry ranging from site-directed mutagenesis to the comparative structural analysis of proteins. She is researcher at the CNR of Bari.
Lorena Pochini
Member of protein biochemistry and drug screening unit
Prof. Lorena Pochini is member of protein biochemistry and drug screening unit of UnicalCure. Her research interests are membrane proteins reconstitution in artificial membranes (liposomes), functional and kinetics characterization of membrane proteins and enzymes, drug invitro screening. She is Associate Professor of biochemistry at the University of Calabria since 2020
Michele Galluccio
Member of the protein expression and characterization unit
Prof. Galluccio Michele is member of the protein expression and characterization unit of UnicalCure. He is involved in the heterologous protein overexpression using several host such as bacteria, yeast and mammalian cells. His competences cover the field of recombinant protein purification and protein stability optimization. He is Associate Professor of biochemistry at the University of Calabria since 2017

Dr. Lara Console is member of the structure-function relationship unit of UnicalCure. He is involved in comparative structural analysis of proteins and molecular docking. She is PostDoc at the University of Calabria.

Administrative and project manager
Dr. Viviana Romano is the administrative and project manager of UnicalCure. She supports UnicalCure activities by managing public relations, verifying orders, quotations, invoices, and purchasing to ensure maximum transparency.
